Wayfinding • Signage Design

Client

Cedar Cottage Neighbourhood House

Create a wayfinding system that balances accessibility with comfort for the upcoming CCNH building and childcare centre.

Project Goals

Warm wood finishes, soft colours, and a considered pairing of serif and sans-serif typography establish a welcoming wayfinding system that complements the architects’ living room-inspired vision for the space. Extending across interior and exterior signage, large-scale parkade murals, and transit-oriented development (TOD) signage,
the system creates a cohesive visual identity throughout the site.

Project Application

Work done with Scot Geib at Lost & Found Design

Alongside accessibility, a key objective of the signage system was to create a sense of welcome and comfort. A palette of soft colours, warm off-whites, and natural wood veneer introduces a familiar, homely quality, while expressive typography adds character and approachability. Together, these elements establish a visual language that feels inviting and intuitive, helping the wayfinding system integrate naturally into the space.
